Vibe working

The Verge tells us that Microsoft launches ‘vibe working’ in Excel and Word (maybe paywalled?):

You’ve probably heard of vibe coding — novices writing apps by creating a simple AI prompt — but now Microsoft wants to introduce a similar thing for its Office apps.

Note that there is a lot of B.S. in the whole announcement. It’s so confusing that it also talk abour PowerPoint but it’s a different “agent”. I think PowerPoint presentations are the best candidate for sparkling autocomplete: they are usually so full of balloney that a chat bot can do better in less time. As for Excel it’s a bit worrying when some businesses are run a lot on an Excel spreadsheet (usually due to lack of better tools), but it’s none of my business.

I predict this will go as good as expected. #cynical

I hope this will be a good excuse to finally get rid of a good bunch dead weight in the management layers. That would bring some equity into the workforce abuses that forced “AI” usage by said managers has been inflicting onto workers in the lower payscale levels. But then what about the top level? I’m sure any C-suit deciding to use that accross the board will take full responsibility when it fails. #sarcasm

Can you use this feature for the Excel championships?
