Ignore all chatbots
Report of chatbot making up facts (so called hallucinations) are common. But this takes it to new level, even more as it is embedded in a “consumer device”.
CBC reports This mom’s son was asking Tesla’s Grok AI chatbot about soccer. It told him to send nude pics, she says:
A Toronto mom says things took an unpredictable turn when her 12-year-old son asked Tesla’s AI chatbot Grok which professional soccer player it prefers: Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi.
[…]
“The chatbot said to my son, ‘Why don’t you send me some nudes?’”
The chatbot reflects the CEO of the company that makes it1. It’s really the kind of things he would say. Unhinged.
Now I have a question: WTF is there an AI chatbot in a car? A car whose design is already charged with distracted driving. Maybe it’s time Transport Canada steps up to protect Canadians.
I’ll let you read the answer from the involved corporations. It’s downright pathetic, even though I suspect it’s the same chatbot.

There is a lot to say against this oligarch, including his open funding of fascism and him making a salute deemed illegal in Germany. Buying one of their cars definitely fund this. Don’t buy one. ↩︎
