Windows 2 for the Apricot PC/Xi
Nina Kalinina tells us how she put Windows 2 for the Apricot PC/Xi. This didn’t exist back then and the Apricot PC wasn’t an “IBM Compatible”.
I have been on a quest to get a modern-ish word processor and spreadsheet program for it ever since. Which eventually made me “port” Windows 2 on it. In this post, I will tell you the story of this port.
I’m still impressed by what people manage to do with old computers, even if it is just to run things for fun.
And yes. Both Word and Excel did exist on Windows 2.0. Excel even came with an install on Window 2.0 runtime for users that didn’t have Windows (or a Mac).
